TECHNICAL INFORMATION

DESCRIPTION OF THE PSA
SYSTEM

Air contains 78% of
nitrogen, 20.9% of oxygen, some rare gases, CO₂ and water
vapour. Compressed air at 9 to 10 bar
(minimum pressure 7 bar) passes through a column filled with a Carbon Molecular
Sieve (CMS). The CMS adsorbs oxygen much more quickly than nitrogen.

This means that the oxygen is adsorbed in the
column and the product gas contains nitrogen with only a residual amount of
oxygen and other rare gases.
